2007 Sattley TT. Smokin' tailwind on the way out; Brutal headwind on the way back. 309w average, 55:00 official time.My power was just where I wanted it to be, but my time was a hair slow. Basically I mis-paced the course given the wind. As you can see from the attached screenshot, my power was higher before the turnaround than after by about 10 watts average. If I had been able to reverse that scenario? Faster for sure, but hard to say by how much.
All in all, though, hard to complain about 5th place in a field of district champs, national champs, and all-round hardmen.
Now I hear Bubba finished in the 52's. We've got our work cut out for us at Tour de Nez.

hard day.
what were your splits?
i was 25 and a few seconds out, 29 and a few more on the way back.
it felt as though i put more power out into the wind, but i wonder now.
interesting.
My out was the same (25ish) and the back was almost exactly 30. Cracked a little bit on the way back.
But let's look on the bright side:
20w bump in power over last year.
1:09 faster than last year and a new PR.
Bosch put more time into me at Madera than he did here, on a course that was more than twice as long.
Jeff beat me by 2:30 last year and only 1:45 this year.
There's hope!
hope?
i guess it's hard to be objective on one's own results/progression.
but, each year you are making jumps. big'uns.
great job.
Hey shawn you got the gears spinning in my head after coldsprings. I started making a database on course records....8seconds off the course record....8 freaking seconds. Just think if you had a warm up
Nah, Adam Switters has the record from 2004 I think at the twilight stage race 29:12. But yeah, darn close to VDA. Makes me wonder if I could've gotten close to the 3 lap record...
